Modifying a Maximus Oven for a Food Truck or Trailer

If you are planning to use this oven for a food truck or trailer, it must be modified to handle the suspension. Your vehicle must have satisfactory suspension and the face of the oven must be secured with added bolts from the dome into the face. This is an after-purchase modification. The warranty is voided if not properly modified.

You will need the following tools to insert them into the facade:

  • 1 - 5/32 inch concrete drill bit.
  • 1 - 7/32 inch metal drill bit
  • 1 - 1/4 inch nut driver.

Use the 7/32" bit for the outer shell and the 5/32" for the stone part of the facade.

Since our Maximus ovens are designed to be portable, some of the components of the oven can be easily removed for added convenience, so it is equally important you are sufficiently protected as well. Along with modifying the face of the oven, if your setup does not include the securement of the chimney extension (most food trucks do but open trailers usually do not), then we recommend you remove it when actively transporting the oven so you do not potentially lose it and/or damage it, as well as you should secure the thermometer and place sandbags, or something similar, on top of the firebricks to weigh them down and prevent them from potentially breaking considering the nature of the roadways and various terrains.

Concerning securing the oven to the trailer, we are unable to fully advise as all setups are different as well and the codes and requirements are specific to your respective states and counties. We recommend you consult with a local professional who can better assist to ensure it is properly done and is in compliance with your local regulations.
